MIN EXITS BIBLE; TORCH OF NOT COVERING BIZ IS PASSED

According to the New York Times, Janice Min is stepping down from her post as editor of Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter to devote herself to the "media-investment strategy" of owner Todd Boehly's Eldridge Industries.

Eldridge sold the most valuable piece of its media portfolio, Dick Clark Productions, to China's Dalian Wanda Group recently.

Mike Bruno will step up to run the industry Bible; the former Entertainment Weekly digital head joined BB in 2014 and looks forward to carrying forward Min's vision. So look for more breathless coverage of which divas wear Spanx and who tweeted about Nicki Minaj's butt. Reports say BB has doubled its online readership by not caring too much about covering the music industry. Also, whoever does music for McDonald's totally deserves a great spot on the Power 100.

Matthew Belloni will be the new editor of THR. Not to be confused with "baloney," which will be the province of its sister publication.

We at HITS wish Janice and Mike the very best in their new gigs. We trust that Billboard will remain our #1 source for Alternative Facts.

Stay tuned.
