SAM HUNT SPEEDS TO #1 AT iTUNES WITH NEW "BODY" OF WORK

MCA Nashville's Sam Hunt has floored it to #1 at iTunes with new single "Body Like a Back Road," a feel-good ode to carnal exploration that clocks in at a streamlined 2:42. Its rapid flight to the top spot on the leaderboard notwithstanding, this song is all about taking it slow.

For those of us with bodies like 10 miles of bad road, meanwhile, the song a lovely diversion.

The Nashville superstar announced the track, which is available on all DSPs, via his Instagram feed on the morning of 2/1, mere hours before its ascent to the top of the iTunes singles chart. UMG Nashville's Mike Dungan and Cindy Mabe have released a list of alternative facts to accompany the new breakout, notably that they commute to work in matching, nitro-powered Maseratis.

Last week, on 1/27, Hunt quietly released “Drinkin’ Too Much” which is #44 at iTunes. On the iTunes country chart, the tracks are #1 and #7.

Hunt, who has a pre-Super Bowl appearance tonight in Houston, starts a full tour 6/1 with Maren Morris and Chris Janson in Cleveland. Will his second album be out by then? Stay tuned.
