IN THE PINK, VIRALLY SPEAKING

Who is Pink Guy, and why is he ruling the Spotify Viral charts? The lycra-clad troublemaker is the alter ego of YouTube personality Filthy Frank, and his decidedly NSFW songs are exploding on both the Global and U.S. Viral Top 50 rundowns.

Generally fusing sing-song vocals and beats, the tracks are prankish, profane takedowns of TV models, Trump supporters and everyone else in Pink Guy’s purview. “STFU” is #1 on both, while “Nickelodeon Girls,” the racist-mocking “White Is Right,” “Meme Machine” and more are all racking up mega-streams. The tracks all appear on his most recent set, Pink Season (Pink Records), which came out on 1/4. The “Best of Pink Guy” clip on YouTube has earned 17.3m views; Filthy Frank’s channel claims north of 4.1m YT subscribers.
