JODY GERSON TO BE HAILED AS INSPIRING WOMAN OF THE YEAR BY MARCH OF DIMES

UMPG boss Jody Gerson will be among the honorees at the March of Dimes Celebration of Babies: A Hollywood Luncheon on 12/9 at L.A.’s Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Artist/actress Jennifer Hudson and physician Mary Kerr, M.D. will also be honored.

The event hails those whose work has advance the cause of healthier babies and moms; Gerson will be acknowledged as 2016 Inspiring Woman of the Year for her “accomplishments as a leader in the entertainment industry and as a dedicated mother.”

In addition to hailing the honorees, the event will cast light on the effort to address infant mortality, premature birth, birth defects and other serious issues currently affecting poor and minority communities disproportionately.

"I am delighted to be honored as the March of Dimes Inspiring Woman of the Year and represent working parents everywhere," said Gerson. "March of Dimes continues to make a huge impact in communities across the world to prevent birth defects and fight premature births, and as a mother of three children, I am an advocate of their invaluable work."

Rather than give a speech at the event, Gerson plans to perform a medley of Prince songs.
