L.A. GETS DEF

It’s undeniable; The Forum has been the place to be this week. G.O.O.D./Def Jam icon Kanye West lunged into the third L.A. date of his Saint Pablo Tour last night, and he’s still got two more sold-out gigs left (Tuesday 11/1 & Wednesday 11/2).

The crowds have been totally electrified, thrashing about like there’s no tomorrow and singing along like thousands of Snapchat accounts aren’t watching.

The thrill of ‘Ye’s floating stage hasn’t ceased to amaze yet, as he continues to make the rounds, literally performing on top of enamored audiences, who’ve been consistently been treated to career-spanning sets that have included jams from The College Dropout (“Jesus Walks”), Late Registration (“Touch the Sky”), Graduation (“Stronger,” “Flashing Lights,” “Can’t Tell Me Nothing”), 808s & Heartbreak (“Heartless”), My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (“All of the Lights,” “Runaway”), Yeezus (“Black Skinhead”) and of course The Life of Pablo (“Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1,” “Pt. 2,” “Famous,” “Facts,” “Wolves,” “Waves,” “I Love Kanye,” “Fade,” “Ultralight Beam”)

What is there to say, really? How to explain? It’s Yeezy. You know what that means.

Spotted making some pretty questionable attempts at freestyling on Thursday night in particular: Def Jam topper Steve Bartels, alongside label team members Rick Sackheim (pictured with Bartels and HITS' Samantha Hissong), Noah Sheer, Nicki Farag, Gabe Tesoriero and Mundo Garcia; SB ProjectsScooter Braun and Mike Chester; CMG’s Jacqueline Saturn and Dixie Tipton; Interscope’s Dennis Dennehy; Spotify’s Rob Harvey; ABC’s Scott Igoe; Dick Clark ProductionsMark Shimmel; iHeart’s Big Boy; KIISBeata Czechowski and Sisanie; KROQ’s Lisa Worden, Ellen’s Jonathan Norman; Radio Disney’s Kristen Yasuda and more. Yes, it was a weasel fest; what did you expect? We even got word that UMG honcho Lucian Grainge was in the building, but we’d never get the kind of access that even remotely resembles the kind that Sir Lucian gets, so we can’t completely confirm.

The Saint Pablo Tour is scheduled to culminate with two stops at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on 12/30 & 31. A very Yeezy New Year’s Eve—sounds good to us. The Cristal’s on Bartels.
