Garth Brooks revealed the title of his upcoming 11th studio album last night, as well as the cover art; Gunslinger will be released via Pearl Records on Black Friday (11/25).
Lead single "Baby, Let's Lay Down and Dance" was the Most Added song at Country Radio this week. It debuted on the airplay chart at #33.
"The album title came to me when somebody asked me what my favorite thing about being on the road was," said Brooks, a current CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee. "I said 'It just feels good to be out there being a Gunslinger again. Just aiming with the heart and shooting from the hip, that's what you do on the stage, right? And, lucky enough, you've got the ammo of 'Friends In Low Places,' 'Callin' Baton Rouge,' 'Shameless' and you do. You’re a gunslinger out there. And each show’s different and you just shoot from the hip all night long.' As soon I said it, I knew that was the album title right there."
We at HITS may not be familiar with the concept of being gunslingers, but we are quite familiar with having our asses in a sling... and we're quite fond of Singapore Slings. So there's that.
