REPUBLIC'S WENDY G UPPED TO EVP (THE "E" IS FOR "ETHOS")

Republic’s Wendy Goldstein—aka Wendy G—has been promoted to EVP at the label, as trumpeted by the brothers Lipman and EVP Rob Stevenson.

Wendy G has been Exec VP of A&R and Head of Urban A&R since 2014, working closely with such hit artists as Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Hailee Steinfeld and DNCE.

She's now gearing up for projects with Steinfeld, DNCE, Marc E. Bassy, Julia Michaels and Prince Charlez.

“Wendy is family,” proclaimed Monte Lipman. “She’s been with us since day one, and actually put Republic in business by signing The Bloodhound Gang [when she was an A&R exec at Geffen] in 1996. She continues her tremendous work, focus, dedication, and pursuit of excellence at a superior level. And she’s promised to teach me how to scratch on my turntable.”

Noted Avery Lipman, “Wendy was a key influence on Republic’s genesis 20 years ago. We value her beyond words. This is a much deserved promotion, and we’re excited to work alongside her for hopefully another 20 years.”

“It’s simple,” chimed in Stevenson. “Wendy knows how to make classic, hit records. She brings the best out of every artist she works with and continues to raise the bar for both the label and the entire industry.”

For her part, Ms. G said, “This team has been together for a while, and we’re still hungry. There’s a tremendous respect we all share in an amazing environment. We all love music, working together, and breaking new artists. It’s a joy to be a part of this. I’d like to thank Monte, Avery, Rob and [prexy] Charlie [Walk] for their unending support and making Republic the best label it can be.”

Kicking off her career as an assistant at Epic, Wendy moved to Geffen in 1993, where her signings included The Roots, Common, GZA, Mos Def and the aforementioned Bloodhound Gang. Next came a stint at Priority/Capitol (where she worked with Snoop Dogg, Chingy and more). She landed at Republic as A&R consultant in 2009, formally joining the staff in the L.A. office as SVP of A&R in 2011.
