IN SYNC: TV SPOTS CAUSE SURGE IN MUSIC SALES

Two new TV commercials have sent GRACE f/G-Eazy's breakout hit, "You Don't Own Me" (RCA), and Ariana Grande f/Nicki Minaj's "Side to Side" (Republic) up the iTunes chart. As of this morning, "You Don't Own Me" was at #16 and "Side to Side" was at #11.

Of course, the former—which was used in a Toyota Corolla ad—is a cover of Lesley Gore's 1963 smash; Gore's original can be found at #77.

Grande, however, actually showed off her acting chops and starred in the comedic T-Mobile spot, which leaves the pop princess stranded in the desert.

Watch both here.
