APOLLO CRED

On the occasion of a Def Jam evening at the Apollo Music Cafe, label ruler Steve Bartels flexes with rising stars JAHKOY (l) and Earl St. Clair. The former performed material from his forthcoming EP (due 10/28), while St. Clair blazed through a set with his 10-piece band. (We had the good fortune to catch St. Clair at a recent L.A. showcase, and he is truly a force of nature). After this photo was snapped, Bartels took the stage for a powerful suite of classics from the Great American Songbook, performed entirely on the spoons.
