Goldenvoice has released a series of short video clips excerpting performances by five of the six acts performing during the two weekends of Desert Trip (it appears Bob Dylan didn’t give his permission for footage of his performance to be used).
This one opens with establishing scenes of the fest to the soundtrack of The Rolling Stones’ cover of Little Walter’s “Just Your Fool,” the instant-grat offering from the band’s upcoming LP of blues covers, Blue and Lonesome (Interscope). Footage from the Stones’ performance of “Start Me Up” from opening night (Friday, 10/6) follows.
Interestingly, tickets to the sold-out event were going for as much as $3k two weeks ago and but by Friday were under face value. It appears the scalpers overbought.
