U.K. MIDWEEKS: GREEN DAY LEADS TOP 5 REVOLUTION

Green Day are hurtling towards the #1 spot in Blighty with Revolution Radio (Warner Bros) notching up 24k combined sales at midweek stage—13k ahead of nearest rival Alter Bridge in an all-new Top 5. Meanwhile, it’s a third week at singles #1 for James Arthur.

Revolution Radio looks set to award Green Day a third U.K. #1 album following 2004’s American Idiot and 2009’s 21st Century Breakdown.

Alter Bridge’s self-released The Last Hero is on track to become the band’s highest new entry at #2, followed by Bee GeesBarry Gibb at #3 with In The Now (RCA).

Finalising the Top 5 is Kaiser Chiefs’ sixth studio album Stay Together (Caroline) at #4 and OneRepublic’s Oh My My (Interscope) at #5.

Over on the Official Singles list, Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go” (SYCO) is holding on to the top spot after a homecoming performance on the X Factor on Sunday—the show he won in 2012. Chainsmokers f/Halsey’s “Closer” (RCA) is 12k combined sales and 125k streams behind at #2.

Ariana Grande’s “Side To Side” (Island) f/Nicki Minaj rises one place to reach a chart peak at #4 and Calvin Harris’ “My Way” (Columbia) moves down a place to #5.

So where’s Bruno? “24K Magic” is this week’s highest new singles entry at #7.
