FLIPOVER FRIDAY: ITUNES AND APPLE MUSIC NEW ARRIVALS
It’s a sunny day for rock music this flipover Friday as five new albums from rock acts are waking up to Top 10 debuts at iTunes. On the singles side, Lady Gaga’s second single from Joanne (Interscope) has cracked the Top 10 with just over a days’ worth of sales.
Green Day’s Revolution Radio (Reprise), the trio’s 12th album and first release since their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, opens at #1 followed by OneRepublic Oh My My (Mosley/Interscope) and Alter Bridge’s self-released The Last Hero. The other rookie rockers, Dance Gavin Dance’s Mothership (Rise) and 13 Voices from Hopeless’ Sum 41, are at #8 and #10 respectively.
Blue Note’s Norah Jones and Colbie Caillat bring a softer side to the Top 10 this morning. Jones’ return to a more piano-based sound, Day Breaks, dawns at #4 and Caillat’s nod to her beach home, The Malibu Sessions (PlummyLou/RED), washes up at #9.
NOW That’s What I Call Music Vol. 59—priced to sell at $6.99—comes in at #7.
Gaga’s country-ballad “Million Reasons” is at #4 on the iTunes songs chart a day after its release online. Gaga started her Dive Bar tour Wednesday at Nashville’s 5 Spot where the song received its live debut.
