GAGA CARRIES THE BALL FOR THE NFL

"I’ve been planning this since I was 4, so I know exactly what I'm gonna do," Lady Gaga told co-hosts Michael Strahan and Curt Menefee during an appearance on the Fox NFL pregame show Sunday. With that far-fetched comment, Gaga turned on the hype machine following the announcement that she’ll be the halftime headliner for Super Bowl 51.

“For me it’s all about giving to the fans and bringing people together who wouldn’t usually come together,” she said later, shifting gears to a topic with which she’s more familiar. "The thing is, it’s such a big world stage in terms of how many people see it and it’s been done so many times, I think the challenge is to look at it and say, ‘What can I do differently? How can I elevate certain little things?’ And also make it about the music. I really want to sing for everyone.”

Gaga briefly returned during halftime of the afternoon game to discuss defensive strategy, tossing out the term “zero gap,” which Strahan appeared to interpret as a sexual metaphor. Here's the interview:
