JT, DJ KHALED, USHER JOIN PEAS ON CHARITY SINGLE

The Black Eyed Peas have unveiled an all-star version of “Where is the Love?” —retitled “#WHERESTHELOVE” for the Twitter generation— to raise money for will.i.am’s non-profit organization, the i.am.angel Foundation.

Will.i.am and band drafted Justin Timberlake, Jamie Foxx, Joel Madden, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Tori Kelly, Usher, DJ Khaled and about 60 other performers to recut the 2003 hit. It’s the first BEP release in five years and the first time ever will.i.am has used the “caps lock” key.

Members of the group talk about the post 9/11 origins of the song in a video posted on Facebook. The single, an iTunes exclusive, is available here.

Will.i.am’s foundation’s motto is “transforming lives through education, inspiration and opportunity.” The song and video “calls for calm, asking citizens of the world to stop the hate and violence that has resulted in many lives lost,” according to their release statement.

Aiming to alert millennials to social issues, the foundation’s partner Esri revealed a story map of U.S. neighborhoods struggling due to low spending on education, high unemployment, high poverty and murder rates.
