OASIS SINGER LIAM GALLAGHER
GOES SOLO WITH WARNER BROS. U.K.

Agreeing that “Wonderwall” is their favorite earworm of all-time is the team behind Liam Gallagher at Warner Music U.K. From left, UROK Management’s Sam Eldridge, Warner Music UK Chairman & CEO Max Lousada; lawyer Nicky Stein; Gallagher, Warner Bros. Records U.K. President Phil Christie; manager Debbie Gwyther and UROK’s Roy Eldridge, who got the last beer in the cooler.

Max Lousada’s Warner Music U.K. has signed former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, who will release his debut solo album in 2017. Elsewhere in Blighty, there are newly inked deals at 4AD, Sony/ATV and Bucks Music Management.

His record will be released via the Warner Bros. Records U.K. imprint, helmed by Phil Christie, who described the music as “big, bold and heartfelt.” Sam Eldridge at UROK Management manages Gallagher.

“It feels important and culturally relevant,” Christie said. “Liam’s one of the all-time greats—brilliant, distinctive, controversial and captivating. It’s great to be working with Liam, Debbie and UROK on such a strong return for one of the U.K.’s most loved artists.”

“I’m proud to welcome Liam to the WMG family and delighted that he chose to make Warner Bros. Records his new home,” Lousada added. “It’s an iconic label for iconic artists and, under Phil’s leadership, it has all the energy, drive and ambition to take Liam into the next chapter of his remarkable career.”

As the frontman and lead singer for Oasis, Gallagher sold a combined total of 77m across seven multiplatinum studio albums. The band’s second record (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? remains the fifth biggest selling album in U.K. history.

All seven of their studio albums went to #1, and they had eight #1 singles in the U.K. alone. After Oasis disbanded in 2009, Gallagher joined Beady Eye for the release of two Top 5 records and has since been working on the new Oasis film Supersonic that's out in October.

Elsewhere, Beyonce songwriter Diana Gordon has signed to Simon Halliday’s indie label 4AD as a solo artist, and producer/singer/writer Daecolm has a publishing deal with Guy Moot’s Sony/ATV.

Finally, Bucks Music Management has signed songwriting and production duo Josef Page and James New of Artery Music and producer, writer and mixer Dan Weller.
