AN OCEAN OF QUESTIONS
Frank Ocean dropped new music! Yay! Everyone's really excited and it sounds super-cool! Woo-hoo! What exactly is it, and how does it count on the charts? Uhhh... huh. Well, Endless, the longform video with songs that appeared on Apple Music last night, will, according to Apple execs, be followed by something else from the Def Jam artist this weekend. Endless, it seems, will not be charting (since videos don't count on either album or SPS charts), which means that the true release of the album is still pending.
Will that album be Boys Don't Cry? Is the music (not separated into tracks) on Endless the same as the audio of BDC, or is it a companion piece (or "prelude," per Rolling Stone)? When the "official" release happens, will it stream on Apple Music and sell on iTunes simultaneously? It's all occasioning Endless speculation, as you can imagine. Stay tuned.
