SYCO FOR THE SUMMER

Ah, summer in England, when warm weather and convivial spirits lighten the mood of a conflicted nation—often for 15 whole minutes. Then, of course, it bloody well starts pissing down rain again. These photos from the recent SYCO party at London’s Lancaster House find luminaries of the British biz enjoying some primo vino and sparkling conversation; it’s the sort of civilized revelry we often experience ourselves, by watching BBC series on cable. Shortly after these photos were snapped, Sony U.K. chief Jason Iley distributed Pimm's Cups to the crowd from his jet.

“I understand you can actually extract the souls of your clients from their bodies,” observes SYCO chief Simon Cowell to superagent and WME co-head Ari Emanuel. “I’ve always wondered how to do that.”

SYCO's Sonny Takhar and Ultra's Patrick Moxey savor the realization that the Brexit vote has once again been eclipsed by the political insanity in America.

Columbia U.K. joint President Alison Donald notes that summer was actually brought to England by Harry Styles. Seen calling each other "babe" are (l-r) CAA's Paul Fitzgerald and Mike Greek, Donald, Lateral Management co-founder Jamie Binns and CAA's Emma Banks.

Seen just before slathering on the SPF 30 and embarking on a jolly fierce round of Olympics-level volleyball are (l-r) Sony U.K. SVP International Operations Mark Collen, UMPG U.K. Managing Director Mike McCormack, Pippa Glucklich of Starcom MediaVest Group and Mark Krais, partner at Bray & Krais, Solicitors.
