U.K. CHARTS: VIOLA BEACH SCORE POSTHUMOUS #1

Viola Beach have been honoured with a posthumous #1 on the U.K. Official Albums Chart. Their self titled debut, released via own imprint Fuller Beans Records, tops the chart six months after the promising young British band and their manager Craig Tarry were killed in a car crash while touring in Stockholm.

“The tragic circumstance that met Viola Beach and their manager Craig that fateful night in Sweden will not now define their lives,” the families of the band and Tarry said. “What will now define their lives and what they will be remembered for, forever, is the music they were so passionate about making together. So from us all, a simple but heartfelt 'thank you’.”

Chris Martin boosted their campaign by playing the band's "Boys That Sing" during Coldplay's Glastonbury headline set in June.

The remaining Top 5 consists of last week’s Top 4 down one place, in order: ELO’s All Over The World (Epic), Christine and the QueensChaleur Humaine (Because Music), Drake’s Views (Island) and Adele with 25 (XL).
