DEF JAM CREATES CREATIVE DEPARTMENT

Def Jam Recordings has created a new department to create artist-driven content that will be exploited through marketing initiatives, media campaigns and social platforms. Mildred Delamota has been promoted to run the department, taking on the title of VP, Content Creation, Def Jam Recordings.

Delamota, formerly Senior Director, Video Production, will be based in New York and report directly to Faisel Durrani, Def Jam’s General Manager/Executive Vice President.

“Mildred is building a modern, in-house creative agency designed to meet the needs of our artists and our marketing team by delivering engaging, top-notch content,” Durrani said. “I can think of no one better suited to step into this role. And speaking of content creation, how about that Melania Trump?"

Delamota joined the former Island Def Jam Music Group in 2000, as Video Production Assistant, and was promoted three years later to Video Production Manager. In 2006, she was named IDJ Creative Director, a post she held until 2010, when she was appointed Creative Services Director. She brought music video production in-house, has several directing credits and has art-directed multiple visual campaigns.

Her first hire is videographer/director Sebastian Sdaigui, who has shot and directed videos for Def Jam artists Bibi Bourelly, Jahkoy and others.
