LEGAL FEES SOUGHT IN LED ZEP TRIAL

Lawyers for Warner/Chappell Music, publishers of Led Zeppelin’s "Stairway to Heaven," want one of classic tune’s lines to come true: “everything still turns to gold.”

Warner/Chappell Music has filed with a federal court to receive $613k to offset legal fees during the recent trial over “Stairway." Warner/Chappell cited "extensive and ongoing litigation misconduct" on behalf of plaintiff Michael Skidmore, the trustee for Spirit's Randy California's estate, and the plaintiff's counsel, Francis Malofiy, Rolling Stone reported.

Warner/Chappell is seeking reparation of their legal fees to "encourage and reward the litigation of a meritorious defense." They noted "flagrantly unprofessional and offensive" practices Malofiy used in his case.
