EAGLES TO KEEP THEIR APPOINTMENT WITH THE OBAMAS

A year after the Eagles were chosen to be a Kennedy Center honoree, the band will travel to D.C. to receive the prize in memory of Glenn Frey, their “comrade and fellow traveler,” as they put it in their official statement.

The other 2016 Kennedy Center honorees are Mavis Staples, James Taylor, pianist Martha Argerich and Al Pacino.

The recipients will be toasted by Secretary of State John Kerry, who will award them their medallions, and will be received at the White House by President Obama and the First Lady.

The official gala and ceremony will take place later in the year; CBS will air it 12/27.
