With this week's Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) and Albums Sales charts nearly final, let's take a gander at who's on top. Drake, the sultan of streaming, kicks off his seventh week atop the SPS scoreboard, while Nick Jonas' Last Year Was Complicated is both the week's biggest bow and the #1 album seller, edging out the Tonys-hogging Hamilton on both charts. Beyoncé's Lemonade, meanwhile, continues to be very sweet indeed.
SPS
Drake (YMCMB/Republic) 121k
Nick Jonas (Safehouse/Island) 69k
Hamilton (Uptown) 61k
ALBUMS
Nick Jonas (Safehouse/Island) 47k
Hamilton (Uptown) 45k
Beyoncé (Columbia) 37k
We'll be discussing all this in greater depth later, but now seems like as good a time as any to reiterate that the SPS chart adds albums sales, Streaming Equivalent Albums (SEA) and Track Equivalent Albums (TEA) to get its total. We don't use the term "consumption" because it makes us think of tuberculosis. Anyhoo, 10 tracks = 1 album is the TEA formula; 150 streams = 1 track and so 1,500 streams = 1 album for SEA. And that's all the math we'll ask you to do on a Friday. You may now resume bonging.
