CHANCE'S ALL-STAR SURPRISE (UPDATE)

Rumors started swirling Thursday morning of a surprise, exclusive release tonight at iTunes. That release is Chance3 from independent powerhouse Chance The Rapper. The mixtape, Coloring Book, featuring guests Justin Bieber, Kanye West,Lil Wayne,2Chainz, Jeremih and more, is now streaming exclusively at Apple Music.

Earlier this week Chance circulated a petition to lobby for free albums to get Grammy consideration. He had previously released two free albums.) While it's said that Chance3 will be available to download at no cost from iTunes, currently it's only available as a stream. Nonetheless, it's being heavily promoted by a lockdown of the carousel on the iTunes home page.

Per current chart rules, only Chance3’s streaming totals will be eligible, likely making it the first album to chart with only streaming numbers. Free downloads are ineligible to count toward the charts.

This is Chance's first new project in three years, and the first since he gained momentum from co-productions on Kanye West's The Life of Pablo, "UltraLight Beam" and "Waves.”
