Drake’s Views (YMCMB/Republic) has just become the first album to top a million on one digital service in a big win not only for Apple Music but for all the players involved. The final tally has it at 1.07m SPS with nearly 300m+ U.S. streams, over 250m of them Apple's. Global streams, meanwhile, are over 310m for Apple alone and estimated over 375m for all services. These numbers are mind-boggling. The latter tally shatters the record for first-week streams set just a week ago by Beyoncé and blows past the reported worldwide total for Justin Bieber of 205m.
Meanwhile, in its second week, Beyoncé’s Lemonade (Columbia) has registered 196k in sales and 322k SPS (with close to 100m streams).
Needless to say, Drake will top both the albums and SPS charts for the week. Watch for a full chart story soon.
