Earlier this week, Warner/Chappell ruler Jon Platt added Chairman to his CEO title at the pubco.
He recently added another ASCAP Pop Publisher of the Year title to the trophy wall; made an array of personnel moves (adding Paul Kahn as CFO and upping Katie Vinten and Ryan Press as co-heads of U.S. A&R and tapping Chuck Gamble to oversee catalog); and piloted a direct deal with online-radio giant Pandora. Meanwhile, W/C writer Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton is doing reasonably well, adding a record-breaking 16 Tony nominations to his gallery of other laurels.
The ASCAP Pop awards showcased the pubbery's global diversity, as writers from all over the world partaking of its many wins; Platt is currently experiencing that international flavor (and, presumably, jet lag) by flying between territories and meeting with his global leadership team.
