THE DEATH OF PRINT JOURNALISM, PART 7,528

Dualtone’s The Lumineers grace the cover of our latest print edition. The band, which scored big a while back with the out-of-left-field smash “Ho Hey,” has returned with another big single, “Ophelia,” now inside the Top 10 at Alt radio, and are on the verge of a chart-topping retail bow with album Cleopatra. Still, these folk-pop luminaries may want to turn the lights out when they find themselves on the cover of our benighted rag.

Our Contents page VIP, meanwhile, is UMG Nashville topper Mike Dungan. The man’s been toasting Chris Stapleton’s explosion at retail on the heels of a huge ACM night that also resulted in big wins, gains and/or looks for Eric Church, Sam Hunt, Dierks Bentley, Little Big Town and Luke Bryan. Despite it all, Dungan will probably want to start drinking to forget this HITS shout-out.
