MAXWELL DIVES BACK IN WITH "LAKE"
After a near seven-year hiatus, Columbia's Grammy-winning Maxwell revealed the first single from his upcoming blackSUMMERS'night album, called "Lake by the Ocean."
After a near seven-year hiatus, Columbia's Grammy-winning singer, Maxwell, returned to the scene on Friday 4/8 with "Lake by the Ocean," the first single from what will be his second album from the BLACKSUMMERS'NIGHT trilogy set, entitled blackSUMMERS’night.
The new album is due July 1st.
"Lake by the Ocean" features the signature lush production and gorgeous falsetto melodies that we've come to love from this artist, who disappears completely in between projects in order to super focus on his craft.
"I hope people don’t hate me for taking so long [to release new music] — but I want my real life to be in these songs," Maxwell recently explained, "I don’t want them to be written [quickly]. I’m not a typical sort of pop artist."
