The Top 5 Highest Grossing Films Over the Weekend Domestically

Deadpool was the #1 film in America on Oscar weekend, pulling in another $32m for Fox and making it the third-highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time (behind Passion of the Christ and American Sniper) with $286m in its first three weeks.

Lionsgate's Gods of Egypt and Eddie the Eagle—another Fox flick—end up as the only debuts in the Top 5. The latter, a family friendly option about Olympic skier Michael "Eddie" Edwards (starring Hugh Jackman and Kingsman's Taron Egerton), scored a 73% at Rotten Tomatoes, while Gods earned an agonizing 12%.
