NEW MUSIC BLIGHTY

The biggest Blighty-born release out tomorrow (2/5) is Elton John’s 32nd studio album, Wonderful Crazy Night, released via UMG’s Virgin EMI. It’s described as a far more upbeat record than 2013’s The Diving Board, but can it top the #3 peak its predecessor reached?

With Rihanna’s ANTI (Virgin EMI) expected to carry on an upwards trajectory when the set hits retail in time for week two, and Sia’s This Is Acting (RCA) likely to end this week at #1 on the Official Albums Chart, John will be faced with stiff competition.

The second album from RCA singer Foxes, All I Need, is also amongst new U.K. music out tomorrow, with worldwide UMG offerings including Lion Babe’s debut, Begin (Polydor), and, from the WMG camp, Drake collaborators Majid Jordan with their self-titled first album and Wiz Khalifa’s sixth set Khalifa (Atlantic). At this point, the #1 spot next week is all to play for.
