U.K. MIDWEEKS: DOUBLE #1 FOR SONY

Jason Iley’s Sony U.K. boasts the #1 spot on both the U.K.’s Official Singles and Albums Chart at the midweek point, with Sia’s This Is Acting (Monkey Puzzle/RCA) and ZAYN’s “Pillowtalk” (RCA).

This Is Acting is 4k combined sales ahead of its closest competitor, David Bowie’s Best Of Bowie (Parlophone), which climbs one place to #2.

Atlantic act Charlie Puth is at #3 with debut album Nine Track Mind, while Rihanna starts at #4 with ANTI (Virgin EMI) running behind Puth by just 210 combined sales. Rounding off the Top 5 is another RCA release—David Bowie’s swan song Black Star.

ZAYN’s debut single is just as huge in Blighty as overseas, with “Pillowtalk” looking set to rival Adele’s “Hello” as the U.K.’s most streamed track in a week. It’s already the most streamed day-one track by a male artist in the U.K. and is racing 23k sales ahead of nearest competitor, Jonas Blue’s “Fast Car” (Virgin EMI), which rises one place to #2.

Rihanna’s “Work” is at #3, Shawn Mendes' “Stitches” (Virgin EMI) slips from #1 to #4 and Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” (Virgin EMI) completes the Top 5. Drake's "Summer Sixteen" (Island), meanwhile, has yet to make a big impact in Blighty, entering at #31.
