SXSW will break out multiple keynote speakers for the first time ever this year, and the opening address will be given by Tony Visconti, the American producer of British greats including Bowie, T.Rex and Thin Lizzy. Mr. Visconti’s opening keynote will take place on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Room 18ABCD of the the Austin Convention Center.
Along with co-producing Bowie’s Blackstar, Visconti co-produced Esperanza Spalding’s upcoming Emily's D+Evolution, and Daphne Guinness’ Optimist in Black. He’s the author of Bowie, Bolan and the Brooklyn Boy (Harper Collins U.K.).
We strongly recommend you watch this fascinating 20-minute piece from BBC Arts in which Visconti breaks out each part on the multitrack of “Heroes.”
