CAM KEEPS ON “BURNING”

Less than a month after securing her first Grammy nomination, Arista Nashville/RCA’s Cam hit #1 at Country radio with “Burning House,” the song that's up for Best Country Solo Performance. The track remains Top 10 at the format.

Certified platinum, “Burning House” was the top-selling single by a solo female country artist in 2015. Cam’s celebration included a performance on the Dec. 15 Today show where she received her RIAA plaque.

Her album Untamed, released 12/11, posted the best first-week album sales by a debut Country artist in 2015; the album has moved in the neighborhood of 73k RTD.

Cam was signed by Sony Music topper Doug Morris and RCA head Peter Edge, and RCA is now beginning to cross her to Pop.

Declared Sony Nashville chief Randy Goodman, “What a gift to walk into a new job and discover an Old Dominion and a Cam and to be able just to say, this is what we're here to do now let's go get it and see the level of execution on everyone's part; artist, manager and staff, is extremely exciting and obviously rewarding.”

Added Goodman, “Cam is such a special artist, and I think we're seeing the very early days of what will be a huge superstar.”

“Cam is an exceptional artist,” agrees Edge. “She’s not only a talented songwriter and natural performer, but has an electric personality that wins people over instantly. She stands out from the crowd and the quality of her music will provide her with longevity and continued success.”

At a Nashville listening party/performance, the following felt particularly Untamed after a few themed cocktails by Crown Royal: (l-r) Sony Nashville chief Randy Goodman, RCA's Tatiana Rodriguez, Cam, RCA Chairman/CEO Peter Edge and prexy/COO Tom Corson.

“The day we met Cam we knew she would be a force to be reckoned with,” asserts RCA prexy/COO Tom Corson. “Our Nashville partners have done a great job of getting her to #1 and setting the stage for mainstream success. We know she’s a star and we share her ambition. She has a tremendous future ahead of her.”

Spotify, which chose Cam the Country Spotlight artist to watch in 2015 streams, has seen “Burning House” stream more than 21 million times.

The single was ranked #1 on Rolling Stone’s 25 Best Country Songs of 2015 and the only country song on the AP’s Top Songs of 2015.

The Arista Nashville singer from California's Bay Area will tour with Brad Paisley as a special guest on his “Crushin’ It World Tour” that runs 1/21 to 2/27.
