ADELE TAKE II

The much-talked-about “When We Were Young” from Adele’s 25 has had its full-length debut after a 60-second snippet premiered yesterday in a tease for an upcoming interview with 60 Minutes Australia.

A five-minute live performance of the love song filmed at Paul Epworth’s London studios The Church, where some of 25 was recorded, appeared on Adele’s Vevo channel today; it already boasts more than 360k views.

"This is the one, then—the ‘Hit Expectant,’” wrote U.K. journalist Tom Lamont in an interview with Adele in the Observer Music magazine over the weekend. “The song just has that feel—a standard in the making, only waiting to become a part of the fabric of the coming years, chosen again and again on karaoke machines, picked out for people to get married to and buried to, centerpiece of an album that seems sure (however much she flaps her hand and demurs) to rattle the world the way 21 did.”

“When We Were Young” was written with the suddenly wealthy young Canadian Tobias Jesso Jr. and produced by Ariel Rechtshaid (Vampire Weekend, HAIM). Check out the face-meltingly epic clip.
