As part of an Apple Music/iTunes takeover next week, look for SYCO/Columbia’s One Direction to do a daily video content series on Apple Music’s Connect. The short-form pieces, described as a throwback to TRL in its heyday, will be hosted by James Corden of CBS's The Late Late Show, who has a long relationship with the 1D lads.
This is Apple’s latest foray into producing video and other content for artists since the Apple Music platform launched. It was reported late last week that an embed button had been added as an option on Connect videos, suggesting the company’s commitment to Connect as an alternative to VEVO and YouTube.
