JAMMIN' WITH JERRY

Industry vet Jerry Sharell took to the concert stage for one night only on Sunday at Vibrato in Beverly Hills. Sharell, late of A&M, Elektra/Asylum, MCA and Westwood One, released singles on the Mail Line and Alanna labels before joining the other side in promotion and marketing. He currently hosts and spins standards Sat & Sun on KJAZZ radio in L.A.

The sold-out room was packed with luminaries, such as Joe Smith, Eddie Rosenblatt, Steve Tyrell, Bob Emmer, Mike Stoller, Vic Faraci, Saul Levine, Billy D. Williams, Morris Diamond, Bob Catania, Charlie Pignone and even Larry Solters. Attorney Jay Cooper sat in, playing alto flute and clarinet along with vocal solos and duets from two of Sharell’s three kids: son Jerry, who does PR at The Recording Academy, and daughter Janine, a producer on E!’s Fashion Police. Clive Davis couldn’t make it.
