ADELE’S WEEK THAT WAS

As you may have suspected, “Hello,” the first track from Adele's 25 (XL/Columbia, 11/20), had a jolly good first week. The widescreen ballad will top the songs charts next Friday (11/6) with more than 1m in sales. Not only that, “Hello” has been downloaded an additional 250k times to those who have preordered 25. That brings the actual total to 1.25m downloads, a record in the digital era.

Speaking of records, “Hello” is on track to be streamed more than 25m times in its first week. After being streamed nearly 3.5m times on Saturday, then a new record, the track was listened to even more on Monday with 4.3m+ total streams. As if that wasn’t enough, “Hello” upped its game even further the next day with nearly 4.5m total streams. And the beats goes on for Ms. Adkins.
