Multi-faceted indie firm Alien Music has tapped biz vet Ron Cabiltes as VP, reporting to CEO Danny Zook. Cabiltes served for 12 years at EMI Music Publishing and also served at BMG Chrysalis and ATO Records.
Atlanta-based Alien, founded in 1994, began life as an indie label serving the Southern underground but has since grown into a licensing/supervision/publishing/management shop; it has handled clearance for big records by The Game, Big Sean and Meek Mill, among others. Cabiltes' quote for his announcement, in fact, was sampled from a 1971 release announcing a new head of AM promotion for ABC/Dunhill.
