Warner Music Nashville chief John Esposito will receive the Presidential Award for Outstanding Executive Achievement at the Music Biz 2016 convention in Nashville. The presentation, on 5/17 at the Renaissance Nashville, will honor his work at the label and on the CMA board, which, in the words of Music Biz head Jim Donio, “has been critical to the explosive growth of country music.” Esposito helped launch WMN in 2009; the label's successes have included Blake Shelton, Hunter Hayes, Ashley Monroe, Brett Eldredge, Cole Swindell and Frankie Ballard, among others.
Prior recipients of the award include Dick Clark, Ahmet Ertegun, Clive Davis, Sylvia Rhone, Scott Borchetta, Casey Kasem and Jim Urie, among other luminaries.
"It’s a privilege to be counted among the music business royalty that have accepted this Award in the past, and I thank Music Biz for this amazing recognition,” said Esposito. “My goal has always been to spread the word about the music I love, and I’m happy to have had the opportunity to do so on such a grand scale."
