AMAZON PRIME RIDES THE HOLIDAY TRAIN

Amazon has announced that it will offer the holiday album by Train as a streaming exclusive to Amazon Prime members in the U.S. and U.K. The 15-song yuletide set, Christmas in Tahoe, due 11/13, will also be available in download form and in a special physical edition through Amazon, with pre-orders in effect now. (A standard physical edition will be available everywhere.) The Crush Music-managed band’s seasonal set includes holiday pop chestnuts made famous by Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder and John Lennon, as well as several originals.

This marks the first time a band of note has offered an exclusive through Amazon Prime.

Prime members will be able to check out the music via the Amazon Music app on Android, iOS and Fire devices, as well as via Amazon Echo and online through primemusic.com. “We’re excited to bring the Grammy-winning band’s holiday inspired album exclusively to Prime Music,” declared Amazon VP of Digital Music Steve Boom, adding, “we know that Prime members are going to enjoy unlimited listening throughout the holiday season.”

Train fans can enter to win an autographed ukulele used by the band on tour by following @amazonmusic on Twitter and retweeting the post when it goes live tomorrow. And nothing says “rock ‘n’ roll” like a ukulele.
