MATTERA HOPS UP TO COMMERCE/DIGITAL EVP POST AT THE BUNNY

Longtime WMG Exec Will Relocate to Burbank, Talk About Streaming a Lot

Warner Bros. has tapped Larry Mattera for the freshly stamped post of EVP, Commerce, Digital Marketing & Strategy, effective 11/2, reporting to label chairman Cameron Strang. Mattera was previously SVP, Head of Global Digital Accounts at WMG; he will relocate from NYC to Burbank and soon experience his first 90-degree Christmas.

This new gig will combine oversight of the label’s traditional and digital commercial activities with responsibility for digital marketing initiatives and strategy. He’ll also be charged with showing WBR staff that if you want to share a Spotify playlist, you click that little thingie in the corner.

Before arriving at Warner, Mattera spent six years at Island Def Jam.

Strang praised Mattera’s “leadership skills, wide-ranging digital expertise and respected ability to forge impactful relationships with colleagues, artists and business partners,” noting he was the ideal person to blaze new trails in the streaming marketplace.

For his part, Mattera counted himself “thrilled” to join the WBR team. “I’m looking forward to working with everyone at Warner Bros. to take its legendary roster to new heights and launch a new generation of successful artists,” he said. “I want to thank Matt Signore and all my colleagues at WEA for a wonderful eight years, and Cameron for offering me this amazing new opportunity.”
