ICYMI: MILEY KICKS OFF SNL 41

RCA's Miley Cyrus served as both host and musical guest on the season premiere of NBC's Saturday Night Live this weekend. The star whose never afraid to shake things up used her opening monologue to sing a soaring (and satirical) ballad, looking back on the unmemorable people who made the summer of 2015 memorable; those mentioned included Rachel Dolezal, the dentist who killed Cecil the Lion and "Pizza Rat."

Miley quickly joked, "Tonight I am on a seven-second delay. Not a television delay, it's just when you smoke as much as I do you're always on a seven-second delay"; we'll have what she's having.

The songstress also performed two songs from the experimental Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz, which she released without warning and free of charge after MTV's VMAs in August. Watch her perform "Karen Don't Be Sad" in nothing but carefully placed foliage and a beehive wig of dreads and trinkets here, before watching her tear up after a heartfelt rendition of "The Twinkle Song" here. She may be a bit out there, but Miley certainly has a strong set of pipes and a whole lotta heart.
