Hold on to your light sabers, because here comes the Star Wars soundtrack onslaught.
As part of the post-release galactic hype explosion for the forthcoming The Force Awakens, Sony Classical will unleash, on 1/8/16, no fewer than three editions of the soundtracks for Episodes I-VI. These will include The Ultimate Digital Collection, The Ultimate Soundtrack Collection on CD and The Ultimate Vinyl Collection.
Each comes with attendant bells and whistles (or whatever the space equivalent might be), such as hi-def downloads, interview discs, a DVD, 180-gram platters with gatefold sleeves and "a black, soft-touch laminated slipcase with an embossed, hot silver foil Star Wars logo" with a download card.
No matter how you consume said deluxe packages, each will showcase the iconic, heraldic compositions of John Williams, whose Star Wars music has earned four Grammys, two BAFTAs and a Golden Globe. Williams, of course, scored the new, J.J. Abrams-helmed feature as well.
