DRAKE AND FUTURE'S BAGGING RIGHTS

What the hell is holding up the Drake and Future mixtape? On Friday a tweet that contained the proposed cover art made the Internet go crazy, with talk the release was imminent—and the world went 0 to 100 in anticipation. Then... silence.

Is there label pushback that two superstars—two who actually SELL records—are dropping a free project? Did Cash Money, which recently sued Lil' Wayne over his Free Weezy Mixtape on Tidal, shut the 6 God down? Or perhaps did Future, who detailed the battles with his label brass at Epic over releasing three free mixtapes in a row during his documentary Like I Never Left, run into more interference?

No one is talking.

Yet the leaks keep coming—a common tactic among Internet-savvy artists to force their labels' hands, btw. This morning what appears to be an internal document from Republic Records containing details of the project popped up on Twitter. Among the revelations are every rapper's new Squad Goals when it comes to assembling that dream team of producers—because everyone from 40 to Boi-1da, Metro Boomin, Southside and Mike Will are on this joint, and the guest features will make anybody hype. Then there's that humorous title of the project: Put It All In A Plastic Bag (which we're hearing is a working title).

One thing is clear: we know the tape exists. But when it's actually going to drop is murkier than a cup of Dirty Sprite.
