HOT TIMES
AT EPICFEST

More than 1,000 people reveled through a sunbaked SoCal Saturday afternoon at the first annual EpicFest, hosted by L.A. Reid. Performing were Ozzy Osbourne, Future, Big Boi and Phantogram, newly formed all-star group Big Grams, Jidenna, Travi$ Scott and young German rock band Audiodamn! (formerly Amsterdamn!). Samantha Ronson DJ’d for the entire four hours.

Among the attendees were Epic prexy Sylvia Rhone (obviously), Ciara, A Great Big World, Yo Gotti, Transviolet, Camila from Fifth Harmony, Kat Dahlia, Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Ricky Reed of Wallpaper, Tom Corson, Big Jon Platt, Zane Lowe and a dozen Apple and Beats 1 execs, Andre Harrell, Diane Warren, Bille Woodruff, Casey Veggies, Ashley Benson of Pretty Little Liars and HITS’ own Naomi Robin, who recounts her EpicFest experience immediately below. Scroll down for a photo gallery of the event. Take it away, Naomi.

Audiodamn! kicked off the fest and had the crowd dancing to their groovy pop rock. Frontman Oliver Wimmer (who was nice enough to pose with me at right) shared that they're finishing up their debut LP and expect it to hit shelves in early 2016.

Samantha Ronson kept the good vibes going between sets, spinning quite a few Michael Jackson tracks in honor of the late King of Pop's birthday.

Jidenna teased us with his smash, "Classic Man," while sporting a classy suit and tie combo complete with a pocket watch and cane. He stepped off after performing the one song. Perhaps he couldn't take the heat? Can't blame him. Everyone was schvitzing. Big Grams was next, but I missed the set because someone spilled their margarita all over my white shirt and I was busy cleaning it off.

Travi$ Scott had people bumping, grinding, and singing "I Don't Give a Fuck" at the top of their lungs. Future got everyone's attention with his hit "Fuck Up Some Commas." He showed off his softer side after the set while walking around with his adorable son in his arms.

Spotted in the crowd: Jon Platt and Ryan Press dancing to Future, Mark Czarra of Downtown Records and new Epic signing Transviolet.

Ozzy headlined the fest and had the crowd going apeshit for "Suicide Solution" and other classics. He looked and sounded AMAZING.

Everything was alcohol-infused, from the margarita popsicles to the tequila ice cream sandwiches. There were basketball hoops, foosball tables, beanbags and picnic blankets strewn about the grass. This was honestly the coolest event I've ever been to—even Coachella could learn a few tips from Team Epic.
