NEW RELEASES: BEAUTY, BADLANDS IN THE MARKETPLACE (UPDATE)

AHere's how Friday's new releases are shaping up. The Weeknd's VMA visibility drove his streaming numbers up; his first-week sales for Beauty Behind the Madness will easily exceed the entire life to date of 2013’s Kiss Land. Even if he hits even the low end of the range below, he'll have the second-biggest bow of the year, after Drake, and could beat Drake's streaming numbers. Meanwhile, Halsey is picking up momentum.

The Weeknd (XO/Republic) 325-340k albums, 385-410k SPS
Halsey (Astralwerks/Capitol) 90-95k, 100-105k
Ben Rector (APTLY NAMED) 23-26k, 24-27k
Maddie & Tae (Dot/BMLG) 20-23k, 22-25k

Please note, as usual, info on Saturday morning is somewhat limited. Expect updated projections on Monday morning. In the meantime, check out our reviews of The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness and Halsey’s Badlands.
