MR. SMITH GOES TO HOLLYWOOD

If any music-biz figure deserves a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it’s Joe Smith, and he’ll get that star on Thursday, Aug.27, at 11:30am, right in front of the Capitol Tower, where he worked for seven years, starting in 1987. Jackson Browne and Ronnie Raitt will say nice things about Joe during the ceremony. By the way, his star is #2,558.

In honor of this special occasion, we give you this piece from a series of videos created by PBS Digital Studios animating the audio from interviews Joe did for his book Off The Record. He donated those tapes to the Library of Congress.
