The Top 5 Highest Grossing Films Over the Weekend Domestically

Ant-Man remains on top of the domestic box office for another week, beating out the Adam Sandler-led Pixels, which opened to poor reception. On the other hand, Southpaw, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, debuted at #5 and garnered mixed reviews.

Of course, everyone's a critic. We know the trick to enjoying all movies; just skip the popcorn for a baggie of medicinal edibles and everything's Oscar-worthy. Just mind your dosage.

2. Pixels (Sony/Columbia) $24m 3,723/$6,446 avg. (debut)
3. Minions (Universal) $22m 4,066/$5,435 avg. (week 3)
4. Trainwreck (Universal) $17m 3,171/$5,456 avg. (week 2)
5. Southpaw (Weinstein) $17m 2,772/$5,952 avg. (debut)

Just outside the Top 5, Paper Towns, a coming-of-age flick featuring model-turned-actress and all-around "it girl" Cara Delevingne, bowed at #6 with just north of $12m.
