WHAT’S RIGHT WITH THIS PICTURE?

Here’s an intriguing stylistic intersection: former country artist Taylor Swift and envelope-pushing country artist Sam Hunt onstage together.

Hunt was Swift’s surprise guest during her second 1989 World Tour stop at Chicago’s Soldier Field, longtime home of the Monsters of the Midway. Considering she filled the stadium twice this weekend, you’d have to say Taylor’s pretty damn monstrous herself.

Hunt took advantage of a five-day break from his own summer tour with Lady A to fly to Chicago and perform his hit “Take Your Time” with Swift, who called him “the coolest thing that country music has going on.”

HAIM, Vance Joy and Shawn Mendes—none of whom is remotely country—were also on the bill for the two Soldier Field shows.
