The New York Post's Page Six is reporting that Epic ruler L.A. Reid has been quietly bidding for a substantial piece of streaming service Rhapsody. The story notes that Reid has tapped private-equity firm Pegasus Capital Group to handle the transaction, which Post sources say will give Sony a large ownership stake. The veteran digital-music outift has been touting a subscription model since 2001, when it began selling digital singles.
