BIG AT ITS BEST

This weekend in the States may have marked your biggest, Memorial Day-induced, hangover yet, but over in the U.K., the pounding in people's heads came from something much bigger and better.

BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend officially came to a close on Sunday with an explosive set from Foo Fighters. For two days, Norwich was filled with loud and lovely sounds from the likes of Foos, Muse, Taylor Swift, Snoop Dogg, Fall Out Boy, Florence + the Machine, George Ezra, Hozier, 5 Seconds of Summer and more.

The evening before the Foos closed the show with "Congregation," which Dave Grohl dedicated to his new obsession, Taylor Swift, Grohl proved he's having the time of his life. The rocker got to join Paul McCartney for a performance of the Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There" at McCartney's Saturday show in London. Watch below.

Fall Out Boy ignited sparks in the crowd with "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)" just before sunset on Saturday.


During the same slot on the following day, Imagine Dragons also electrified an eager audience with latest single, "Shots."


And you can't forget about Aussie pop/rockers 5SOS, who kicked off the weekend on the main stage. Speaking of fluttering hearts, there were definitely more than a few present during their cover of The Romantics' "What I Like About You."


After Catfish and the Bottlemen played a well-received set on the main stage that they earned thanks to Sam Smith's inability to perform, British songstress Rita Ora delievered the first live performance of brand new single, "Poison."


Singer/songwriter Raury—who placed on the BBC Sound of 2015 poll earlier this year—stood out as one of the true gems found on the In New Music We Trust stage. He lived up to his buzz with an energetic delivery of "God's Whisper."
